"Kon kuradi kotsil ma elä?" is the first thrash metal song in the world to be written in the Võru language, a small dialect from South Estonia that is spoken only by about 75 000 people. Celebrating Tankist's origins and contributing to the dialect's preservation, the lyrics also raise the question if such rich and vibrant local traditions can survive in the globalized world prone to mass culture. The answer: an affirmative "yes" only if the indigenous people themselves stay true to their roots.
